Stretch Pizza is a restaurant that has quickly carved a name for itself. It’s owned by couple Jason and Natasha, who were inspired in 2017 after their first taste of real Neapolitan pizza in Leeds.
They decided that was how pizza should taste, and they knew they had to bring that authentic Neapolitan pizza to Hull. After starting as a pop-up at events and festivals in 2020, the positive response from customers was so overwhelming that they’ve since established a permanent restaurant and takeaway.
As part of our Hull Eats video series, we decided to pay a visit to Stretch Pizza, and the reviews don’t lie – our experience was fantastic, with the quality of their pizzas standing out.

Upon entering, the awesome pizza oven was the first thing to catch our attention. It’s massive, and combined with the rustic brick walls and wooden counters, we instantly felt comfortable and at home. Natasha is a designer by trade, and has built up Stretch with an expert’s eye that perfectly captures the feeling of popping into a local pizza house in a little corner of Naples. Additionally, there’s tons of amazing artwork on the walls that’s not just there for decoration; each frame is tagged with a price, and if you notice a piece you like, you can buy it and take it home after your meal!
When it came to choosing pizzas, we opted for a classic Margherita, a spicy Diavola, a Capra with a unique combination of rocket, goat’s cheese, honey, and lemon zest, and a Nduja Fuso with a salsa and truffle base.

Jason and the team come up with different flavours themselves; for example their latest special, the Capra with goat’s cheese and honey we just mentioned, was put together by employee Max.
The Margherita was a good rendition of the classic Italian pizza. The Capra was a different experience – the goat’s cheese and honey added a sweet and tangy flavour that paired well with the bitterness of the rocket. However, the Nduja Fuso was the standout. The spicy Nduja sausage and the truffle base were a winning combination that worked well with the freshness of the salsa – the taste was as striking as its appearance!

One thing that made the pizzas particularly good was the dough. Stretch Pizza has clearly spent time perfecting this, as it was light and had just the right amount of chewiness with massive, crispy crusts that were perfect for dipping after.
Overall, our visit to Stretch Pizza was top-notch. The restaurant offers a good selection of pizzas, with an emphasis on quality ingredients and authentic flavours. It’s a good spot for anyone in Hull looking to enjoy a delicious pizza.
