This East Hull takeaway serves up some of the best street food we’ve ever tasted.
Located at 294 Southcoates Lane, Top Dawgs is a unique takeaway that offers a delightful array of burgers, dogs, pizza, and shakes. The establishment is owned and run by three incredibly talented chefs who are dedicated to bringing their creative flair and restaurant-standard food to a local, friendly takeaway.
During our visit, we sampled several standout items, including succulent steak burgers like the Jam Slam, topped with bacon jam and breaded deep-fried Red Leicester, and The Fat Cow, topped with sweet and smoky pulled beef brisket. These burgers were incredibly flavourful and perfectly cooked, showcasing the high-quality ingredients used by Top Dawgs.
The pizzas at Top Dawgs are especially impressive, with fresh dough made on-site, delivering a premium taste comparable to some of the best pizza places in the city. We tried the Dawgs Bollox Pizza, which had a perfect balance of donner meat, pepperoni, smoked bacon, smoked cheese, BBQ sauce, and a drizzle of maple syrup. It was absolutely delicious!
In addition to their pizzas and burgers, we enjoyed the Piglet Dawg, made with wild boar sausage and unique, freshly-baked bread. The topped fries and mac and cheese were also exceptional, offering hearty and satisfying options for any street food lover.
To top off our meal, we indulged in the Biscoff milkshake and Cadbury’s Crunchie milkshake, both rich and indulgent. For dessert, the Crunchie cheesecake and Rolo brownie were the perfect sweet endings to a fantastic meal.
