Lunchtime Organ Showcase
Wednesday 2nd March @ Hull City Hall
With John Scott Whiteley.
Status Quo
Wednesday 2nd March @ Bonus Arena
In September 2019, QUO performed a triumphant set at the massive Radio 2 ‘Festival in a Day’ event in London’s Hyde Park in front of 65,000 fans. That turned out to be their last UK show as the ‘Backbone’ Winter Tour of 2020 was cancelled in its entirety due to Covid-19. Now, STATUS QUO are delighted to be able to announce their long overdue return to the stage with the ‘Out Out Quoing’ tour.
Macka B and The Roots Ragga Band
Thursday 3rd March @ The New Adelphi Club
Wake the town and tell the people! British reggae star Macka B returns to The New Adelphi Club.
Come and witness the influential dancehall toaster deliver tracks from a career that spans over thirty years.
As a practising Rastafari, Macka B’s music is based around the political and spiritual message of the religion, with an often light and humorous touch. Working with the Mad Professor throughout his career, he has combined dancehall and dub styles of reggae, although has avoided a more commercial crossover approach.
You Heard Me
Thursday 3rd March @ Studio, Hull Truck Theatre
You Heard Me is a true story. It begins with an ambush. It ends with you. You Heard Me is a celebration of a single moment of noise that freed Luca from an attack. Made her understand what it means to take up space. To heal. To be part of something much bigger than yourself. You Heard Me is for anyone who has been underestimated. Anyone who has been told to shut up. Anyone who has been afraid to walk home.
Gong Show
Thursday 3rd March @ Comedy Lounge
First Thursday of the month our comedians will try and make the audience laugh for 5 minutes straight. However, the twist is the MC will hand out 3 OFF signs so the audience members now have the power.
Madama Butterfly
Friday 4th March @ Hull City Hall
One of the world’s most popular operas, Puccini’s Madama Butterfly tells the heart-breaking story of the beautiful young Japanese girl who falls in love with an American naval lieutenant – with dramatic results. Highlights include the melodic Humming Chorus, the moving aria One Fine Day and the unforgettable Love Duet.
Astrid Williamson
Friday 4 March @ Wrecking Ball Music & Books
Astrid Williamson hails from the remote Shetland Islands. She has to date released eight studio albums. ‘Rooms’ as part of indie trio Goya Dress, and a further seven as a solo artist. Astrid’s ninth studio album, released in February 2022, is inspired by writings she discovered within a folder buried deep in a hard drive, and intriguingly titled Into The Mountain.
