We recently stayed in one of their safari tents, right on the lake’s edge. It had real beds, a futon, a wood-burning stove, and a little kitchenette – and best of all, it was all set up when we arrived. No hassle, no tent poles, just instant relaxation.
The kids were straight off exploring the woods and building dens, while we sorted life jackets and headed out in kayaks. You can hire them for your whole stay and use them whenever you like, which is perfect for spontaneous paddles or friendly family races across the water.
Evenings were just as magical – BBQ tea followed by family games and toasted marshmallows around the firepit. And don’t worry about the usual campsite bathroom dread – the loos here are warm, spotless, and even have heated floors.
We made pancakes in the communal kitchen the next morning (there’s even an ice machine!), then ate outside at the picnic benches while plotting round two of our kayak showdown.

Terms of entry
Prize Details:
- Two-night stay in Oak Tree Lodge, with a private deck and a wood-fired hot tub, for 2 adults (& up to 2 kids)
- Trip to be taken between 1st September – 21st December 2025 (excluding 24 Oct – 2 Nov) subject to availability.
Entry Requirements:
- To enter, participants must complete the entry form in full, providing accurate and complete information.
Winner Selection:
- One winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries.
- The winner will be contacted via the email address provided within 48 hours of the competition closing.
- If the winner does not respond within 72 hours of being contacted, the prize will be forfeited and a new winner selected.
Prize Conditions:
- The prize is non-transferable and no cash alternative will be offered.
- Both the winner and their guest must be aged 18 or over. ID may be required.
- The prize cannot be exchanged for cash or used in conjunction with any other offer, discount or promotion.
- The prize is subject to availability.
