A spectacular new Turkish meze restaurant has just opened in Beverley, and it’s already turning heads for all the right reasons.

Olive Lounge is the latest addition to the town’s food scene, located above its sister venue Chamas on Wednesday Market. Offering hand-made Mediterranean-style dishes in a classy and stylish setting, it brings something totally fresh to Beverley – both in terms of atmosphere and flavour. The space is beautifully decorated, with wine bottles lining the walls and striking ceiling details adding to the relaxed, sophisticated vibe.
We started the evening with a glass of Prosecco, followed by their signature cocktail – smooth, refreshing, and as good as it looked. The food began with a range of salads, pitas and dips that we helped ourselves to, before sitting down as grilled meats were brought fresh from the charcoal grill directly to each table.
We tried a variety of kofta, including chicken and lamb, which were full of flavour and beautifully juicy, with that unmistakable charcoal-grilled taste. Paired with the bold dips, every bite was seriously satisfying.
To finish, we had their baklava – a crisp, sweet explosion of flavour that rounded off the meal perfectly.
Live music and a belly dancer brought energy to the night, getting the whole room involved – even Beverley’s Mayor joined in the fun.
