We’re officially in the back-end of summer and after a couple months of fantastic weather and even better events, there’s still a whole load more to keep you entertained for the rest of the season. With music and food festivals still on the horizon, as well as fantastic live gigs, comedy, and days out, August & September look to close out summer with a bang.
Tribfest

As well as tribute bands, They’ve got loads more entertainment across the stages, which include The Unsigned Marquee, Acoustic Marquee, Laughing Bull Comedy Marquee, Silent Disco / Disco Marquee, Freedom Road Under 20s Marquee and the Kidzone. Plus a range of retail and catering outlets across the site so there’s plenty to please everyone.
Cottingham Folk Festival

Returning for it’s seventh outing this summer, the Cottingham Folk Festival takes place across the August Bank Holiday Weekend in the picturesque East Yorkshire village of Cottingham, near Hull.
Freedom Festival
26th Aug – 4th September, City Wide
Freedom Festival, Hull’s award-winning international arts festival, is back for its 16th year promising a packed programme in Hull city centre and online for 9 days with over 135 performances.
The festival features more than 350 individual performers, artists, musicians, visual artists, creatives, and plenty who cannot be easily ‘pigeonholed’ into one form or the other. Expect the unexpected!
Starting on 26th August with a finale weekend from 2nd – 4th September, the festival promises to be packed with excitement, awe, joy, beauty and thought-provoking content which audiences anticipate from Freedom Festival.

Maritime Festival
9-11 September, Hull Marina
A two day event at Hull Marina, Victoria Pier, Humber Street and the Old Fruit Market areas.
Every corner you turn you will see and hear the sounds of folk music, pop your clogs on and join in with traditional folk dancing, swing around the Maypole and try instrument making and song writing.
There will be an array of live folk sessions in the pubs, a main stage, a busker trail, an open mic warehouse for Hull’s up and coming talent and ticketed events on the evenings, across both days.
Listen to folk tales by a traditional story teller in Jackanory Corner, visit the Folk Den and join in with the folk crafts for the whole family.
Learn about Hull’s heritage and folk culture dating back to the 70’s at Folk Union One, and watch how the Waterson’s success unfolded over the decades.

And audiences in Hull can witness the Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve and Talent of their favourite queens LIVE on stage as the tour includes a date at the Bonus Arena on Saturday September 17.
