2020 was a live music write-off. But with a new plan to come our of lockdown, the latter half of 2021 is looking really promising.
The Bonus Arena and Hull City Hall are planning to welcome some of the biggest names to Hull. There’s also Hull’s beloved Adelphi Club, O’Reillys, The Asylum, Humber Street Sesh, and the city’s newest venue, SOCIAL, that are hoping to bring live music back in 2021! So keep your eyes peeled for them! ?

Blossoms
Bonus Arena, Hull – 30 August 2021
Forming in 2013, Blossoms have enjoyed widespread success and acclaim for their synth-forward blend of Britpop and indie rock.
In 2014, they released their first single, You Pulled a Gun on Me, and went on to play The Great Escape and Reading & Leeds that summer. Their 2016 eponymous debut topped the album charts for two consecutive weeks and went on to earn the band BRIT Award and Mercury Prize nominations.
There are 25 dates planned for the new UK tour with one date at the Bonus Arena, Hull planned for 30 August. Tickets are limited but still available!
Elbow
Bonus Arena, Hull – 2 September 2021
Originally scheduled to play at the Bonus Arena in September last year, Elbow have postponed their tour by a whole year, which means they’ll now be coming to East Yorkshire on 2 September this year instead.
Elbow are huge name to come to Hull as part of a wider UK tour consisting of 24 dates. Tickets are fairly limited but still available.
Tom Jones
Hull College Craven Park – 4 September 2021
June 13th, 2020 should have been the day the legendary Sir Tom Jones visited Hull’s Craven Park for a special celebration tour. But of course, these dates could not go ahead. They announced a new date of 12 June, but once again, this is likely to move to later in the year. We’ll update this article as soon as we hear. Tickets available now!

70’s Ska Revival band The Specials are returning to Hull on September 13th, 2021! The band has seen seven hit singles, including two number ones, two hit albums, and of course, sell-out tours! Standing and seated tickets are still available for this exceptional Bonus Arena gig!

Tom Grennan is one of the best upcoming UK artists right now. You’ll have likely heard his songs but not necessarily known it’s him.
As well as performing in Hull, Tom’s tour will include his biggest ever UK headline show to date at London’s Alexandra Palace – a landmark gig at the iconic 10,000 capacity venue.

Another huge name from the 90s era; the iconic Simply Red are taking to the road again for a 13-date tour and this time, coming to Hull with 2 live gigs on 2nd and 3rd October.
Hailed as one of the most successful live acts ever to come out of the UK, Simply Red will be firing on all cylinders delivering their all-time classic hits from a stellar career, such as ‘Stars’, ‘Holding Back The Years’, ‘Fairground’ and ‘Money’s Too Tight To Mention’, as well as some raw and soulful new grooves. If you’re over the age of 35, it’s unlikely that you’ve not heard of Jason Donovan. Best known for his role in the Australian soap, Neighbours, he’s been singing and acting for the last 30 years!
To mark the anniversary of his debut album, Ten Good Reasons, he’s embarking on a mammoth 52-date tour, which includes a live gig at the Bonus Arena, Hull on 9 October.
His Even More Good Reasons tour will see Jason singing his greatest pop hits along with his favourite songs from his career in musicals, all accompanied by a full live band. Songs will include the chart-toppers Too Many Broken Hearts, Especially For You and Any Dream Will Do and for the first time ever, Jason will be performing a selection of songs from the musicals he has starred in. Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark are set to visit Hull’s Bonus Arena next year as part of a new 15-date UK arena tour! Multi BRIT and MOBO Award winning boy band JLS today announce details of their return to music as they are set to embark on a mammoth UK and Ireland comeback tour. Blondie are one of the most influential bands to emerge in the 80s. Iconic frontwoman/songwriter Debbie Harry, guitarist Chris Stein and drummer Clem Burke, are back on the road, along with long standing band mates bassist Leigh Foxx, guitarist Tommy Kessler and keyboardist Matt Katz-Bohen.

Pet Shop Boys
Bonus Arena, Hull – 31 May 2022
The Pet Shop Boys tour, which had already been rescheduled once due to the continuing coronavirus pandemic, will see the duo play UK and European shows next summer as part of their first ever greatest hits tour.
The arena shows kick off in Vienna on May 12th and close in Stockholm on June 15th.. In the UK Pet Shop Boys play Manchester, London, Cardiff, Bournemouth, Newcastle, Birmingham, Glasgow and Hull. Tickets are available now!
