IT’S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS: ST STEPHEN’S BRINGS FESTIVE MAGIC TO THE CITY

About IT’S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS: ST STEPHEN’S BRINGS FESTIVE MAGIC TO THE CITY

Christmas cheer arrives at St Stephen’s on Thursday 20th November, as the centre unveils its new Christmas lights and kicks off the season in style with a free community concert filled with festive favourites.
Back for its third year, the festive concert – hosted in partnership with Tribfest outside Tesco Extra- will transform the centre into a hub of seasonal joy, featuring feel-good performances from Collingwood Primary School and the All For One Choir.
The concert will run from 5pm until 8pm, culminating in a lively performance from a soul, funk and Motown band – the perfect finale to a night of festive music and community celebration.
Adding to the festivities, St Stephen’s will welcome back its much-loved Christmas Market, opening on Thursday 20th November and running until Friday 2nd January, with a selection of stalls serving up festive favourites including German sausages, waffles, hot chocolate and mulled wine.
Jim Harris, centre manager at St Stephen’s, said: “The countdown to Christmas is officially on, and we can’t wait to see the centre lit up and buzzing with festive fun once again.
“We’ve planned a brilliant evening of live performances lined up to get everyone into the Christmas spirit – from talented local choirs to a feel-good Motown finale. It’s always such a special night that brings the community together.
“With the wider city’s Christmas lights switch-on taking place just next door, it’s the perfect opportunity to make an evening of it. Pop into St Stephen’s to enjoy the music, grab a bite to eat or catch a film after the celebrations – there’s plenty for the whole family to enjoy.”
And the festive cheer doesn’t stop there. Doreen’s, a local group supporting people across Hull with essential items and community projects, will be at the centre on Saturday 6th December offering a Christmas gift-wrapping service that lets visitors get their presents wrapped while supporting a fantastic local cause.
