Dancing skeletons and ghosts will be ready to entertain in Hull parks and the city centre as the Love Exploring augmented reality app gets a spooky makeover this Halloween.

Available now until Monday 8 November, the usual dinosaur safari will be temporarily joined with the ghoulish-themed trail, complete with characters ready to boogie.

Councillor Marjorie Brabazon, Chair of Hull Culture and Leisure said: “The Love Exploring app has been really popular since its launch at the end of last year and offers families a great opportunity to spend time in our parks in a completely different way.

“We’re experiencing a really mild autumn so the Halloween trail is a great reason to get out in the fresh air. We’ve also added a number of city centre spots to the app, offering users new locations to explore.”

The Love Exploring app is free to download and use across any location. The trail is available in the following parks and spaces: East Park, Hull City Centre, Pickering Park, Frome Road/Eastmount Playing Fields, Noddle Hill Playing fields, Bude Park, Alderman Kneeshaw Park, Oak Road, Pearson Park and West Park.

The app also includes four free heritage trails available at various locations across the city, as well as the opportunity to take part in a range of discovery games, quizzes, guided tours and walking routes.

Funded by Hull City Council and Hull Culture and Leisure, the app is designed to encourage more children, young people and their families to get outdoors and be active whilst having fun.
