Hull’s Trinity Market reveal plans for free festive family show

With the festive season fast approaching, Trinity Market is set to gift a free exciting and magical event to the people of Hull.

Working together with the council, Hull company Redland Events will present The Santa Claus Showtime! – a family show packed with songs, stories and an appearance by Santa himself.

Starring Father Christmas, Mrs Claus and elves, this half-hour of festive fun, music and magical moments takes place on the market’s food court stage area, and the enchantment doesn’t end there. Families will also be invited to venture on a treasure hunt around Trinity Market, seeking festive clues to unravel a puzzle and earn sweet rewards!

Following on from Redland Events’ successful Christmas shows at the Fruit Market in previous years, the Santa Claus Showtime, will be performed four times a day every Saturday in the run-up to Christmas.

Councillor Rob Pritchard, portfolio holder for culture and leisure, said: “The financial pressures that Christmas can bring, together with the current cost-of-living crisis, can mean this is a particularly difficult time for families; so being able to offer such a magical event completely free of charge is a real pleasure. I look forward to seeing our residents come together to spread festive cheer.”

Dan Watson, events officer for Trinity Market, said: “We’re all very excited that Santa himself will be making Trinity Market his home for the festive period and are thrilled to host such a heart-warming event.”

Jack Mangan of Redland Events added: “After a challenging year, it’s our pleasure to offer something back to the community. We urge everyone to come, participate, and make merry! Santa, Mrs. Claus, and their team of elves are buzzing with excitement to be in Hull and can’t wait to meet everyone.”

Santa Claus Showtime! will be performed four times a day every Saturday, from 25 November to 23 December. Showtimes are 11am, 12noon, 2pm, and 3pm.

Tickets are free but must be pre-booked with limited availability for each show, limited to eight per booking to allow for as many families as possible to enjoy.
