Visit East Park, Hull’s largest park and one of the premier park venues in the north of England!
East Park fully opened in 1887 to celebrate Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee. This Grade II listed park recently benefited from a council-assisted lottery grant totalling £10 million and has been transformed into a vibrant green space where you can enjoy modern attractions and discover historic treasures.

Activities & Things to do at East Park Hull
East Park Animal Education Centre
Inside the park, there’s a free zoo featuring animals and birds from around the world. The Animal Education Centre is home to a variety of domestic, farm and exotic animals, and throughout the year they host a range of educational events for people of all ages to improve their knowledge about animals and nature.

Children’s Playground
East Park is home to one of Hull’s largest free outdoor playgrounds.

East Park Splash Boat
A popular ride that has provided thrills and memories for visitors since 1929. One of only two Wicksteed Splash Boats now left in the country.

Children’s Water Play Area – FREE
A new children’s water play area with water geysers, ground gushers and spray caps.

Swan Boats and Rowing Boats
The park has a huge lake where you can hire a Swan or Rowing boat from 20 mins to 1 hour (depending on demand). In 2021, it was only £2 per person.

A selection of musical instruments made from reclaimed materials for you to bang and bash.
Central Pavilion Cafe
Enjoy homemade food, snacks and drinks with views of the park
East Park Library
If sitting in the sunshine and enjoying a good read is your thing, then look no further. The park now has a library in the main pavilion building, and with plenty of green space on the grounds, you’ll be sure to find a good spot to enjoy your book.
