Hull Remembrance Service events & key road closures to know about

Hull City Council, the Hull Royal British Legion, and 150 Regiment will once again come together to host the city’s annual Remembrance Service, which now attracts around 7,000 people each year as residents gather to pay their respects.

To ensure everyone’s safety during the parade and service, a number of city centre roads will be closed from 6am to 1pm on Remembrance Sunday, 9th November 2025. Closures will follow the same plan as last year and are expected to start reopening gradually from around 12.30pm.

The day’s programme begins with a parade from Queen Victoria Square at 10.30am, followed by the service at the Cenotaph at 10.55am, with proceedings expected to finish by 12 noon.

Roads closed between 6am and 1pm include:

Carr Lane, both northbound and southbound sections of Ferensway (from Spencer Street to Anlaby Road on the east side, and from Lombard Street to Anlaby Road on the west side), North Street, Brook Street, West Street, Paragon Street (from South Street to the Cenotaph), South Street, Portland Street, Lombard Street, Chapel Street, Chariot Street, and Anne Street.

Brook Street will remain accessible for deliveries and staff parking via Prospect Street, but all vehicles must exit via Prospect Street rather than Ferensway.

Drivers are advised to plan ahead, allow extra time for travel, and check the traffic management map for full details of the closures.
