Plans have been submitted to Hull City Council to develop 27 new homes on Beverley Road, currently occupied by a shed and garage showroom. Newstar Sectional Buildings, the applicant, proposes replacing the existing structures with an L-shaped residential building. The plans outline a mix of three-bedroom houses, studio apartments, and affordable units.
According to the application, the design aims to provide “a distinctive character” and “a strong sense of place” for residents. Affordable homes are intended to be seamlessly integrated with market-rate properties, with the proposal stating that “there is no discernible difference between market and affordable dwellings.”
If approved, the project would involve demolishing the current workshop, which the application describes as having a “poor” appearance that doesn’t align with surrounding structures. The applicant argues that the new design will improve the area’s aesthetic quality and cohesion with existing buildings.
Hull City Council will review the proposal and make a decision on whether to grant planning permission for the development.
